"De werken van Sara Sizer, uitgevoerd op zijde, weerspiegelen de voortdurende verkenning van de kunstenaar naar de interactie tussen materiaal, kleur en vorm. Waar haar eerdere series werden gekenmerkt door de reductie en weglating van kleur, ontvouwen de zijdeschilderijen zich door middel van meerlagige kleurtoepassingen tot een dynamisch leven op zich, waarbij de grens tussen gecontroleerde artistieke interventies en natuurlijke, capillaire processen zichtbaar wordt. De beelddrager – een fijn geweven, glanzende zijde/katoenstof – dient als uitgangspunt voor zowel artistieke processen als conceptuele associaties.

De afzonderlijke kleuren dragen al een psychologisch-emotionele kwaliteit in zich, die versterkt wordt door het doorschijnende materiaal.

De kleurencombinaties sluiten aan bij Sizers associatieve en poëtische titels. 'Remind', 'Wait' en 'Stay' onthullen diepere betekenislagen en transformeren de formeel naar zichzelf verwijzende schilderijen in metaforen en emotionele landschappen."

"Sara Sizer's works realized on silk, reflect the artist’s ongoing exploration of the interaction between material, color, and form. While her previous series were defined by the reduction and subtraction of color, the silk paintings unfold through multilayered applications of color into a dynamic

life of their own, revealing the boundary between controlled artistic interventions and natural, capillary processes. The image carrier – a finely woven, glossy silk/cotton fabric – serves as the starting point for both artistic processes and conceptual associations.

The individual colors already carry a psychological-emotional quality, which is enhanced by the translucent support material.

The color combinations respond to Sizer’s associative and poetic titles.  'Remind', 'Wait' and 'Stay' open deeper layers of meaning and transform the formally selfreferential paintings into metaphors and emotional landscapes."
