VERWIJLEN (achtste kamer)
Barbara Szlávik is een monochroom schilder. Ze maakt stap voor stap werken waarin ze kleur en vorm samenstelt tot een verbindend geheel. Ontdaan van alle verhalen grijpt het beeld aan op de kleur en onderlinge relaties. Met haar werk wil ze de blik van de toeschouwer losweken van al te snelle interpretaties. Ze wil de ervaring van het kunstwerk intensiveren tot een uniek en authentiek moment.
Voor de tentoonstelling heeft Barbara Szlávik een werk gemaakt dat geïnspireerd is op de 'Oneindige Zuil' van Brâncuși.
Het verlangen leefde al langer om een werk bestaande uit aparte elementen te maken die in veranderende samenstellingen getoond kunnen worden.
Niet alleen in de eindeloze stapeling van de elementen maar ook in de fijnmazige en levendige kleur en structuur van het oppervlak wordt wordt de blik naar het oneindige getrokken. De uitstraling van het werk wilde ze vederlicht maken.
In zijn geheel strekt het werk zich uit over drie verdiepingen.

LINGER (eighth room)
Barbara Szlávik is a monochrome painter. She creates works step by step, in which she combines color and form into a unifying whole. Stripped of all narratives, the image engages with color and interrelationships. With her work, she aims to detach the viewer's gaze from overly hasty interpretations. She wants to intensify the experience of the artwork into a unique and authentic moment.
For the exhibition, she created a work inspired by Brâncuși's 'Infinite Column'.
The desire to create a work consisting of separate modules that can be displayed in changing configurations had been present for some time.
The gaze is drawn towards infinity not only in the endless stacking of the elements but also in the fine-meshed and vibrant color and structure of the surface. The appearance of the work she wanted to be feather-light.
In its entirety, the work extends over three floors.
