"Hoewel mijn stalen sculpturen abstract lijken, roept elk stuk een persoonlijke ervaring op. Ik heb een fascinatie voor afgelegen en wilde plaatsen zoals Achill Island in Ierland en de Shetlandeilanden in Schotland. Deze kustlandschappen onthullen een fundamentele waarheid. De kracht en sereniteit van de natuur brengen me dichter bij de essentie van het leven. In plaats van uit de rede, komt veel kennis voort uit deze ervaringen in de natuur."

In de tentoonstelling zijn twee wandbeelden en een foto op groot formaat te zien. Zoals Cecilia Vissers zelf beschrijft vinden haar beelden hun oorsprong in de ervaring van het landschap. In haar beelden ontsluit ze de potentie van de natuur zoals deze als kracht op ons toekomt. Het staal dat ze gebruikt in haar beelden is in zijn materialiteit bestand tegen tijd en destructieve krachten. Alleen het vuur waarin het vorm krijgt kan de vorm vernietigen en transformeren naar een andere identiteit. 

De foto is het beeld van een reis in de wilde onherbergzaamheid waar de natuur in haar meest fundamentele krachten inwerkt.  De woeste onvoorspelbaarheid neemt ons op en ontsluit de mogelijkheden die we in ons dragen. Hier kan alles gewonnen of verloren worden.

"Although my steel sculptures appear to be abstract, each piece invokes my own experience. I have a fascination for remote and wild places like Achill Island in Ireland and the Shetland Islands in Scotland. These coastal landscapes reveal a fundamental truth. The power and serenity of nature bring me closer to the essence of life. Instead of from reason, much knowledge derives from these experiences in nature."

The exhibition features two wall sculptures and a large-format photograph. As Cecilia Vissers herself describes, her sculptures originate from the experience of the landscape. In her sculptures, she unlocks the potential of nature as it comes upon us as a force. The steel she uses in her sculptures is, in its materiality, resistant to time and destructive forces. Only the fire in which it takes shape can destroy the form and transform it into a different identity.

The photograph is the image of a journey into the wild inhospitability where nature acts in its most fundamental forces. The fierce unpredictability embraces us and unlocks the possibilities we carry within us. Here, everything can be won or lost.
