"Ik zou kunnen stellen dat ik in mijn werk altijd een band zoek met de omgeving of beter met de realiteit van die omgeving. Mijn sculpturen en tekeningen hebben erdoor vorm en betekenis gekregen, ze zijn een weerspiegeling van de indrukken en ervaringen door dit contact.

…Dit is wat ik zie en waarneem.

Het gaat over het gevoel van ruimte, de lijnen die door het landschap lopen, die vormen en structuren creëren en mij op die manier verbinden met wat ik waarneem. Er zijn ook de jaarlijkse processen in de natuur, een energie die zich manifesteert doorheen de seizoenen in bomen, vegetatie en het landschap. Dit zijn voor mij de basis en de krachtlijnen die mijn werk vormgeven en sturen. Het is een soort meta-realiteit, een synthese van emoties en waarnemingen van plaats en tijd. Het gebruik van de materie staat in relatie tot de thema’s waar ik rond werk. Materie fungeert als expressiemiddel, als de ultieme beeldende factor waardoor vorm en inhoud in een synthese samenkomen. De eenvoud van de basisvormen die ik hanteer in mijn sculpturen en tekeningen is een bewuste keuze, zij vertalen waar ik in mijn beeldend werk naar streef."

"I could say that in my work I always seek a connection with the environment, or rather, with the reality of that environment. My sculptures and drawings have taken on form and meaning through it; they are a reflection of the impressions and experiences through this contact.

…This is what I see and perceive.

It's about the sense of space, the lines that run through the landscape, which create shapes and structures and thus connect me with what I perceive. There are also the annual processes in nature, an energy that manifests itself throughout the seasons in trees, vegetation, and the landscape. For me, these are the foundation and the driving forces that shape and guide my work. It's a kind of meta-reality, a synthesis of emotions and perceptions of place and time. The use of material relates to the themes I explore. Material functions as a means of expression, as the ultimate visual factor through which form and content converge in a synthesis. The simplicity of the basic forms I use in my sculptures and drawings is a conscious choice; they translate what I strive for in my visual work."
